[McIDAS #TSV-261063]: Using McIDAS-V to access SSEC's Open Archive

Hi Jane,

I know that this is probably too late, but I just got a note from
Jerry (SSEC Data Center head) about how to site user of their data.
Here is what he sent me:

Data Citation Format

Author(s) or Creator(s): data creators or people/organization(s) responsible
for intellectual content
Release Date: when the particular version of the data set was first made
available for use
Title: formal title of the data set
Version: the precise version of the data used
Archive and/or Distributor: the organization distributing or archiving the data
Locator/Identifier: URL, DOI, Handle (ideally, something persistent)
Access Date and Time: when the online data were accessed

Example:

Velden, Christopher S. (PI). Released 22 May 2014. Real-Time Polar Winds from
MODIS, AVHRR, and LEO-GEO. Advanced Satellite Products Branch, National Oceanic
and Atmospheric Administration and Cooperative Institute for Meteorological
Satellite Studies, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Data set accessed
2014-05-22 at: http://stratus.ssec.wisc.edu/products/rtpolarwinds/.

BUT, Jerry pointed out that they don't have DOIs for their datasets yet, so
not all of the items in the list above can be filled-in.

Please let me know if you have any questions for what you should do (if it is
not already too late).

Cheers,

Tom
