[McIDAS #TEU-219455]: topo map

Hmm...

I displayed the images in an interactive McIDAS session that was setup
to support 16 graphic levels and 128 image levels.  If your tests are
all being done from the *nix command line, your "session" likely only
has 8 graphic levels and 48 image levels.  Try running an interactive
McIDAS session and loading the images to see if you get a different
result.
