[python #HSE-220221]: read_colortable
- Subject: [python #HSE-220221]: read_colortable

Greetings!
The format is somewhat described in the docs here:
https://unidata.github.io/MetPy/latest/api/generated/metpy.plots.ctables.read_colortable.html
You can also find some example files here:
https://github.com/Unidata/MetPy/tree/main/src/metpy/plots/colortable_files
You're talking, more or less, about a single color per line. It's really
simple, but more importantly, it doesn't expose everything you might want in
terms of replicating some colormapping in Matplotlib. You might also find this
part of the Matplotlib documentation useful (since that's all MetPy is
wrapping):
https://matplotlib.org/stable/gallery/color/custom_cmap.html
Hope this helps!
