Jenna Williamson

Jenna Williamson rejoined the Triton Women's Water Polo staff as an assistant coach in early October of 2023.

Williamson was an assistant coach at UC San Diego from 2009 until 2014, when she was elevated to associate head coach, a position she held through the 2017 season. She helped the Tritons win six Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) conference titles. The team also made six NCAA National Collegiate Championship appearances during that stretch. UC San Diego compiled a 176-128 (.579) record and seven Tritons were tabbed the WWPA Player of the Year while Williamson was on the coaching roster.

In 2016, Williamson helped lead the Tritons to a 28-11 record, which equaled the most victories by the Tritons in a single season. Additionally, the Tritons matched a program best with a sixth-place finish at nationals, where they also finished in 2013.

During her second season as assistant coach in 2011, Williamson helped guide the Tritons to the team's first-ever appearance at the NCAA National Collegiate Championships. UC San Diego finished in seventh place at the tournament and ended the year with a No. 14 national ranking.

Williamson joined the UC San Diego program after coaching water polo and swimming at her alma mater, Newport Harbor High School, in Newport Beach, Calif. As an assistant varsity coach, she helped guide the Sailors to a CIF title in 2008. During that same span, she was the head coach of the Newport Water Polo Foundation's 12-U girls' team that placed second at the 2009 Junior Olympics.

She also served as an Olympic Development Program assistant coach with the SOPAC Zone 14 and under team. In charge of running and implementing the Olympic Development Program at three camps and selecting the travel team to participate at the Selection Camp where all zones converged to name the USA National Cadet Team.

A standout collegiate water polo player for UCLA, Williamson helped the Bruins capture three consecutive NCAA titles (2005, 2006, 2007), including the school's historic 100th NCAA Championship during her senior year.

As a freshman, Williamson led the Bruins in assists and had the second-most steals on the team. As a senior,  she garnered All-Academic Team accolades for outstanding efforts in the classroom.

Williamson graduated from UCLA in 2007 with a degree in Sociology.

Prior to Williamson's collegiate career, she played for Bill Barnett at Newport Harbor. She was named to the National Youth Team in 2002 and 2003 and earned a trip to Australia to compete internationally.
