Akida J Mdalingwa
Akida Mdalingwa holds a B.A. in Education from the University of Dar es Salaam and is a YALI RLE fellow. As the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Every Child Tanzania (ECT), he resides with his family at the Eco-Farm - Njombe, where he manages ECT's programs and sustainable projects. Akida has over fifteen years of experience in social work and community development, and a mega advocate of children, youth and gender empowerment on equal accessibility to education and leadership opportunities.
Growing up in a rural village (Ikaning’ombe) in Tanzania, as the first child of 7 in a polygamist family, left him with limited mentorship and education opportunities. His mother and his ability to excel through adversity have inspired him to give back to the community he comes from by unlocking the potential of children and youth deprived of opportunities. He provides love, advocacy, mentorship, safety, exposure, and networks to those in need. Akida is a rich story teller and very passionate about community involvement and making positive impacts, however small! He believes in the power of collaboration and partnership, for the common good!

What would I have become, a child from a peasant family which could hardly make a dollar per day?
What I have been able to accomplish is a complete testimony to what the magic of giving and helping can do. I am inspired by my experiences.
Whenever time and circumstances allow, I would like to touch lives of other vulnerable kids like I was through education, health, care and sustenance to help them achieve as I have done.
