If not, please read on for a few helpful tips 👇🏼 ⭐️ You'll need 3-4 layers of one size (say 6" like I have used here) and 1 layer that's 1" smaller (I have used 5" here) ⭐️ Stack them like I have done here. I have crumb coated the top two layers separately, but that depends on your sponge as well. ⭐️ Use a cake card underneath the top layer so it doesn't start to sag on the edges. ⭐️ Use a ruler to make sure the top layer aligns with the base and then dowel the cake to keep it in place. ⭐️ Add the final layer of buttercream. Cover a little of the faultline gap, too. It gives a nice effect 👌🏻 ⭐️  Fill up the gap. I have piped buttercream flowers and cooled them for about 30min before using them. ⭐️  Add the finishing touches like flecks of gold, gold paint, and so on The MOST IMPORTANT advice is to trust the process!! It looks wonky and weird in the beginning, and you start to doubt that it will EVER be okay... and then suddenly it is! 😉🩷 You can use sprinkles, chocolates, berries or flowers to fill up the gap.
