The Keydets and Terriers went to overtime this spring in Lexington on Senior Day. VMI took a 2-0 lead after tallies from
Leo White and
Brandon Hornung (assisted by
William Welch), but Wofford scored twice in the final 26 minutes to force extra periods.
Wofford got the win with 51 seconds left in double overtime on a penalty kick.
The teams have two common opponents this season thus far. Each squad lost to Presbyterian College (VMI 0-2, WC 1-2), while Wofford defeated Gardner-Webb 1-0 and VMI was defeated 2-0 by GW.
Wofford is 2-3 on the season, while VMI is 0-6.
The Keydets host Howard University Tuesday in non-conference play at 4 p.m. on Patchin Field.
