The Arts Section 02/19/17

February 19th, 2017
Rock n' Roll Hall of Famer Stewart Copeland

On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek caught up with rock n' roll hall of famer Stewart Copeland.  The former drummer for The Police is premiering his new opera in Chicago.  Gary also visited a new retrospective on groundbreaking choreographer/dancer Merce Cunningham that just opened at the Museum of Contemporary Art.  We'll hear from a Northern Illinois sound engineer that worked on Third Coast Percussion's Grammy-winning album. Plus, a story about a new horror anthology titled XX.  And the Dueling Critics review a new play titled THE ASSEMBLED PARTIES.

Gary visited the Museum of Contemporary Art  to get an up-close look at MERCE CUNNINGHAM: COMMON TIME

Several items that illustrate the wide-scope of Cunningham's 60 year career as a dancer, choreographer & artist

Gary talked to two of the four women filmmakers behind the new horror anthology XX.
