The Arts Section 01/07/18

January 7th, 2018

On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek catches up with artist/scientist Hunter Cole.  The Evanston artist uses glowing bacteria to create art.  Her new exhibition, Living Light: Photographs by the Light of Bioluminescent Bacteria just opened at ARC Gallery in Chicago.  Special guest reviewer, Catey Sullivan, joins Kelly Kleiman to review Black Ensemble Theatre's production of SAMMY! A Tribute to Sammy Davis Jr. A little later on, Gary visits a feature on a new documentary that puts a spotlight on the Rita Crundwell scandal that erupted in the small northern Illinois town of Dixon.  And Gary talks to author David Hepworth, about his new book UNCOMMON PEOPLE: THE RISE AND FALL OF THE ROCK STARS.  All that plus, the weekly Arts Section calendar.
