The Arts Section 01/21/18
On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek sits down with Chicago-based filmmaker Jack Newell to talk about his new documentary 42 GRAMS. The film follows a husband and wife team go from operating an underground restaurant in their apartment to running one of Chicago's highest rated establishments. Gary also talks to New York Times-bestselling author Don Winslow about his book, THE FORCE. The Dueling Critics, Kelly Kleiman and Jonathan Abarbanel, stopped by with a review of Shattered Globe Theatre's production of FIVE MILE LAKE. And later in the show, Gary takes a closer look at artist Gertrude Abercrombie. The Chicago painter was friends with some of the greatest jazz musicians of the 40's and 50's. All that plus the weekly Arts Section calendar.
