The Arts Section 02/25/18
On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek visits Chicago's premiere art museums. First, Gary stops by the Art Institute of Chicago to learn more about the museum's recent acquisition of Marcel Duchamp's BOTTLE RACK. The landmark "readymade" sculpture challenged conventional ideas of what art is and is now on display in the Art Institute's modern wing. Later in the show, Gary visits the Museum of Contemporary Art to get an up-close look at the new Howardena Pindell exhibit. The Dueling Critics, Kelly Kleiman and Jonathan Abarbanel, stop by to review Haven Theatre's new production of FEAR & MISERY IN THE THIRD REICH. Then Gary catches up with Plate Magazine senior editor Amy Cavanuagh to talk about some exciting Chicago restaurant and bar openings. All that, plus the weekly Arts Section calendar.
