The Arts Section 09/02/18
On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek visits Burnham Park to talk with award-winning choreographer Nejla Yatkin. The Chicago-based dancer will be leading a participatory dance titled THE CONFERENCE OF THE BIRDS (audience members are encouraged to take part) the next few weekends at the southside park. The Dueling Critics, Kelly Kleiman and Jonathan Abarbanel, stop by to review a dark new play titled NIGHTMARES & NIGHTCAPS. Gary reviews the new film PAPILLON (a remake of the 1973 Steve McQueen film). Later in the program, Gary revisists his conversation with Jazz Institute of Chicago executive director Heather Ireland Robinson. Gary also sits down with John Dorhauer, the music director of the Chicago-based big band, the Heisenberg Uncertainty Players. All that, plus the weekly Arts Section calendar.
