On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek goes behind the scenes of the Block Museum’s new exhibition, CARAVANS OF GOLD, FRAGMENTS IN TIME. The exhibit aims to change perceptions about medieval Africa. Later in the show, a closer look at Lyric Opera’s recently announced 2019-20 season. Gary sits down with Lyric Opera music director Sir Andrew Davis. The Dueling Critics, Kerry Reid and Jonathan Abarbanel, stop by to review a new thought-provoking play titled I CALL MY BROTHERS. After that, Gary catches up with Plate Magazine senior editor Amy Cavanaugh to talk about Chicago Restaurant Week.
