The Arts Section 02/17/19

February 17th, 2019

On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary Zidek talks to Orbert Davis about Chicago Jazz Philharmonic’s Chicago Immigrant Stories series. The trumpeter and composer was inspired by current events to start a collaborative music series that focuses on eliminating barriers. Later in the program, Gary sits down with filmmaker Elizabeth Chomko to chat about her debut feature, WHAT THEY HAD. A The Dueling Critics, Kerry Reid and Jonathan Abarbanel, stop by to review Ike Holter’s new play RED REX. And then contributor Dennis Polkow asks Chicago Symphony Orchestra music director Riccardo Muti about an upcoming program at Symphony Center.  All that, plus the weekly arts calendar.
