The Arts Section 05/12/19
May 12th, 2019
On this edition of The Arts Section, host Gary ZIdek takes a closer look at Chicago Artists Coalition's new SPARK Microgrant program that aims to help visual artists have been traditionally underserved. Gary also catches up with New York Times-bestselling author Brian Jay Jones to talk about his new Dr. Seuss. The book, BECOMING DR. SEUSS, sheds some light on the popular writer who was actually quite private. Later in the program, Gary sits down with Daily Herald columnist Sean Stangland to preview the upcoming summer movie season. And the Dueling Critics, Kerry Reid and Jonathan Abarbanel, will stop by to talk about Steppenwolf Theatre’s new play, THE CHILDREN. All that, plus the weekly Arts Section calendar is coming up.
