There is a new (and significantly smaller) retail patch for SÖLDNER - Secret Wars to upgrade the vehicular 3D action game (and its Marine Corps add-on) by Project Zero / gEasy Team and Wings Simulations to version 33675. As usual it's accompanied by the corresponding standalone Win32 server, and this release adds a new Frontline game mode and four updated maps, deletes some very big maps, applies some balance tweaks, and implements various other improvements.
Celeris has released a new patch for the digital distribution edition of Virtual Pool 3, updating their 3D billiards game sequel to version 3.2.3.9. This release "slowed the rails down some," and an updated playable demo is also available again this time.
As expected, Icculus has released an upgraded full Linux server v2.8.0 for America's Army: Special Forces, the team-based tactical shooter by the U.S. Army. The full install includes everything needed to host games on Penguin-powered servers, but as with the Win32 client, be warned that the immense 2.1 GB download size may make it difficult to download using standard browsers that don't support files over 2.0 GB.
Sierra's trickle of retail patches for Scarface: the World is Yours continues, bringing the remaining European editions of this third-person action game tie-in by Radical Entertainment to version 1.00.2 too. As before, this patch addresses a few crashes and a handful of bugs, along with making some controller and other improvements.

The German playable demo for The Secrets of Atlantis: the Sacred Legacy (a.k.a. Atlantis - Das heilige Vermächtnis) is now online, offering the first opportunity to examine the recent first-person point-n-click adventure game by Atlantis Interactive Entertainment. The first round of patches for FIFA Manager 07 (a.k.a. Total Club Manager 07) has been released, bringing the English, German, French, Italian and Spanish retail and downloadable editions of this 3D soccer management sports sequel by EA Canada to version 1.0. These updates address over three dozen gameplay issues, crashes and other problems, as well as some minor bugs as outlined in the accompanying release notes.
Ubi Soft has belatedly released the X-Mas installment in the diary movie series for Silent Hunter 4: Wolves of the Pacific, the World War II submarine simulation sequel being crafted at their Romanian studio. This high-res clip illustrates the character design and animation process in nearly two minutes of development footage, narrated by the department leader.
Silverline Software has issued a new retail patch for Neverend, updating the US edition of the 3D fantasy role-playing game by Mayhem Studios to (presumably) version 1.1, in sync with the earlier German and French upgrades. This patch addresses a wide variety of instabilities and crashes, as well as applying some gameplay corrections.
More than a year after its creation, an English playable demo for Stronghold 2 has finally surfaced online, renewing the chance to try out the previous 3D castle-building strategy sequel by Firefly Studios. This v1.3.1 demo uses the same codebase as the final retail patches, and as before includes a tutorial and a single-player campaign consisting of three missions. A pair of bonus missions from last year is now also online, adding the "Edinburgh" and "Tower of London" maps to the full game.
