March 2, 2007 - Though not mentioning any significant details, artist Michael Turner did provide fans with an update during his Aspen panel. Turner noted that he would begin heavy production after he wrapped up his work on Soulfire. Soulfire, which is published by Aspen, currently has seven issues on store shelves. Turner is currently working on the eighth book and only ten issues are planned for this volume.

The artist mentioned that he was extremely eager to team with writer Jeph Loeb to do the mini-series. He mentioned that the plot was partly an origin story but also had many modern day elements woven in. Turner projected that the book would start to be published by the end of the year.

Ultimate Wolverine differs in many ways from his core universe counterpart. The character is several decades younger and has a brutal viciousness about him. While the 616 Logan has always been frustrated by Cyclops, James (the Ultimate Wolverine's name) actually attempted to murder him. Both iterations possess the same powers and claws. The Ultimate version recently saw his future self, Cable, return to the current day to assassinate Charles Xavier (we won't tell you what happens). The Ultimate Wolverine was also a member of Magneto's Brotherhood when the Ultimate X-Men series first debuted.

IGN will bring you the latest on Ultimate Wolverine as it develops.
