Interview with Natsume - 6 Comments
02:51 PST | Posted by Chris

Cubedł.com has posted an exclusive interview with the US division of Natsume. While the interview is mainly about the Harvest Moon series, a question is put forward to them about resurrecting the Lufia series, perhaps on the DS or Wii. Natsume responded by saying nothing had been discussed yet, and that they hope Neverland (the developers of Lufia) would be working on a sequel to CIMA: The Enemy as their next project. Message Board Spam - Comment!
05:56 PST | Posted by Chris

I've implemented a possible solution for the increasing spam problem of our message board. When registering an account or editing a profile, you will be required to enter a certain word into an HTTP authentication box. You only get one chance at this per session, so be sure to read the instructions carefully before submitting the form. I am hoping that spam bots will skip over these instructions!! Unfortunately, several spam bots have already managed to register many accounts already. If any are used again, let me know and I will disable them immediately. Thanks!

Long Time No News - Comment!
16:51 PST | Posted by Chris

Just for the record, I'm no longer in New Zealand! Infact I've been back in England for a long time, and even completed my first term of university. Those of you who've experienced the student life will understand that I've been incredibly busy... but I'm at home now for three weeks, and would like to use the time to freshen things up at Lufia World. First of all, I'm busy uploading some brilliant new Lufia 2 fan artworks that Katrin sent to me (thanks!). Not all of them are up just yet, but in the next couple of days they should be (I'll post news again at that point). Secondly, I want to become more active in the community again. But before that, I need to stop these spam registrations from taking place - and I have a technical idea that might. Hopefully it will be implemented this week. And hopefully this won't be the last news post of 2006!

On Vacation - Comment!

I'm posting this from Auckland, New Zealand... over 24 hours away from my home in the UK! I forgot to mention this, but I'll be away for four weeks touring NZ (I used to live here seven years ago). I'll be checking my mail regularly, so please don't hesitate to contact me in an emergency. If my e-mail address above sends you an error message, try using cposkitt@planetthesims.com.

Back on Monday - Comment!
08:30 PST | Posted by Chris

I'll be returning to the forums and my site owner duties this Monday! My exam marathon began on May 18, and is coming to an end on June 26. These exams decide whether I go to university or not, hence their importance! I realise I have a pile of stuff to do when I get back, such as adding fan works and ending battles... but I'll get there.

Nintendo Wii - 27 Comments
14:12 PST | Posted by Chris

This morning, Nintendo revealed the official name of the next-gen console previously known as the "Nintendo Revolution". You guessed it (wait, no you didn't!): Nintendo Wii. As in "we".

Nintendo explains the decision below, but for the full story, check out this article at IGN!

Introducing... Wii.

As in "we."

While the code-name Revolution expressed our direction, Wii represents the answer. Wii will break down that wall that seperates videogame players from everybody else. Wii will put people more in touch with their games... and each other. But you're probably asking: What does the name mean?

Wii sounds like "we," which emphasizes the console is for everyone. Wii can easily be remembered by people around the world, no matter what language they speak. No confusion. No need to abbreviate. Just Wii.

Wii has a distinctive "ii" spelling that symbolizes both the unique controllers and the image of people playing it. And Wii, as a name and a console, brings something revolutionary to the world of videogames that sets it apart from the crowd.

So that's Wii. But now Nintendo needs you. Because it's really not about you or me. It's about Wii. And together, Wii will change everything.

I'm really sorry to everybody who's sent in fan works by e-mail and hasn't received a reply. I haven't lost interest... I simply have been very busy. These e-mails are all marked in my inbox, and I will attend to them this week after my exam.

Looking for News Posters - Comment!
05:26 PST | Posted by Chris

I'd like to see the front page of Lufia World more active, and I think this can be achieved if I can gather a strong team of news reporters. If you have good English skills, know basic HTML, and would like to report news about Lufia, Neverland, and console-style RPG games, then please let me know by e-mail or private message (preferably the latter).

New RPG from Lufia Creators - 2 Comments
15:10 PST | Posted by Serenity

The developers of the Lufia games (The Legend Returns was the most recent title) is now developing a new Harvest Moon game, titled "Harvest Moon: Rune Factory".

This title mixed the traditional Harvest Moon gameplay with RPG-style action (such as fighting monsters and having them work on your farm). The graphics have a more adult feel this time around, and look somewhat anime-ish.

Who knows, we might get a "frue" spelling error in this game! XD

It's still heavily under construction, but it does have a list of differences between the English and Japanese versions (thanks to SinReVi)! Check out our CIMA: The Enemy section here.

Lufia 5 Wishlist - 29 Comments

We all want another Lufia game. It's a fact. But if a fifth game was to ever be developed, what would you want to see in it? Should the Sinistrals return? Should it be 3D? When should the story take place?

Please post all of your thoughts and wishes to this thread, no matter how crazy!

New Zelda Fan Fiction - Comment!
13:49 PST | Posted by Chris

Check out our latest Zelda fan fiction, The Legend of Zelda: The End is Here! I must apologise to the author, David Sattgast. He sent this to me in August and I've only just uploaded it today. However, I did have the excuse - "I'm moving the entire site to a new server" (speaking of which, please let me know if you're spotting any errors on the site that weren't there before)!

New URL - Comment!
14:10 PST | Posted by Chris

You may have noticed that Lufia World has been moved to a different location of the GameSpy Network. I've moved the site to GameSpy's new hosting platform, and from now on our URL will be: http://lufia.rpgplanet.gamespy.com/

A few pages still need a little work. The main fan art, fan fiction, and poetry pages are blank, and a couple of Fortress of Doom pages are missing. Also note that our hosted site "Lufia: The Comic" will be unavailable for a little while. Sorry about these problems - I will get them fixed ASAP. Please update your bookmarks, and enjoy what's available (most of the site)!

"Resurrection" Cancelled - 9 Comments
16:49 PST | Posted by PsiCop

It's with disappointment that I announce today that the MMO Lufia RPG, Resurrection, is officially dead. NeoGades, the main developer of the game, has been absent for a very long amount of time. We don't know why, but all we know is that all of our attempts to contact him have failed. Therefore, after such a long amount of time we must consider this game dead. If NeoGades does show up again, we can take it from there. I thank everyone for their hard work on the graphics and for their support. Maybe we'll see another freelance Lufia project come up in the future.

Board Back Online! - 1 Comment
15:29 PST | Posted by Chris

I've finished working on our board - and it's back online in a new location: http://lufia.rpgplanet.gamespy.com/forum/

The board has been moved to GameSpy's new hosting platform - and the rest of the site will be moving over soon. The forum should be much faster in this location. The only downside is that I've had to add a skyscaper ad. Due to new ad requirements, I had to use a leaderboard, medrect, or skyscaper ad - and after a good deal of testing I decided that the skyscaper was the least intrusive. Please let me know if you feel otherwise!

Board Maintenance - Comment!
