Southeast Europe Sizzles; 38 Die

News – Sizzling temperatures in Greece, Italy and Romania brought power cuts and brush fires in a heat wave that has led to at least 38 deaths in southeast Europe in recent days. Four more people were reported dead in southern Romania Tuesday, bringing the country's death toll to 23.

Freed Paris Gets Back to Being Paris

Celebrities – Paris Hilton got out of jail Tuesday and immediately got back to being Paris Hilton, summoning a hair-salon van and, by her mere presence, creating a huge traffic jam that angered the neighbors. It appeared that Hilton's plans to serve God in some way would have to wait at least a day as she readjusted to the simple life of fame and celebrity.

4 dead as heavy storms pummel Texas

Rare pygmy hippo is born at Paris Zoo
