Movies – America is again absorbed with the death in Afghanistan of Pat Tillman. I found the celebration of his death to be upsetting. But the classic film, "The Americanization of Emily" gave a refreshing perspective. If we glorify death, we shouldn't be surprised when we get more of it.

Gadgets & Tech – TechCrunch reports that Google ignominiously shut down its video marketplace via email to us and everyone else who's ever tried the service. The product, announced in January 2006 at CES by Larry Page, was an answer to iTunes' sales of television shows. It was largely forgotten afterwards and if sales were occuring, we didn't hear much about it.
