Orange Box is live! I'm going to play Half-Life 2: Episode 2, then Portal and then probably post some natty screenshots from the pair. In fact, I'm so eager to play that I've pre-posted the morning update hours in advance. That's how much I like Half-Life.

Matthew Pruitt, our second intern, started yesterday. Please take a moment to welcome him to the family, and then take two to call him a PC fanboy. Oh wait, that's a Lawfully Good trait round these parts - nevermind!

Which are you playing first: Episode 2, Portal, or Team Fortress 2?

360 version for me (I have played HL2 and EP1 on PC).
Portal the first game since I am curious.
I dunno if I will replay HL2 and EP1 just to recap a bit (maybe on easy so it doesn't take me too long) or I will go directly to EP2 or maybe EP1 and then EP2.
TF2 as soon as I subscribe to Live Gold....

As it unlocked at 3am for us East Coasters, I figured I'd just play a bit of Portal to get a taste before heading to bed. Well, 16 levels later and with the clock hitting 5:30am I had to get atleast a couple hours sleep before work.

Normally I'm not a big fan of puzzle games, but I'm enjoying Portal so far. As e1zorro said, it took more then a few levels before it started to become challenging. You're still learning some of the gameplay mechanics into the 14th and 15th levels.

I'm almost thinking the base levels are there just to get you ready to take on the bonus and challenge levels, as well as get people thinking about making their own maps. Really looking forward to seeing user made maps down the road.

User levels are going to be where it's at. Many of the user levels for Narby were brilliant.

Most definitely EP2. I'll take a great single player experience over multiplayer any day.

I just finished playing Episode 1 again this week, so Episode 2 will be the first on my list.

Lol Andy! Good thinking ahead.

I am most definitely playing Ep. 2 first. HL2 story line is like crack! Portal looks cool but I want to find out more. I was playing TF2 since the beta started so no rush to fire that up today.

Edit: Oh and welcome Matthew. We love PC fan bois even if Andy has a mean console streak in him ;)

Gonna play Ep. 2 first, but since it will probably take a few nights, I'll be fitting in short bursts of Portal as a dessert for the session. TF2 last, since it's open-ended.

Orange Box on the 360 for me,
I'll be replaying first HL2 (for the third time)
then Episode 1 (which I haven't played yet)
then Episode 2
then Portal.
then TF2.

More updates is always nice so hi new dude :)

I wonder if there is any minimum spec out for Orange Box? I know I can run HL2 without a problem so does that mean I can also run TF2? That is the only game I am really interested in in the Orange Box I loved the beta. If my comp is to old I might pass on the PC version and get the 360 version later.

I know some folks had issues with TF2 beta with poor performance - but that was mainly driver related, and as always you can reduce texture and mesh details and tone down effects until it does run smoothly. I have an ati x800, and can play with everything set to max and low/medium antialiasing

You'll definitely be able to play portal. I've just done the first 10 missions, and so far there's nothing that would challenge even a low-end system. (not that it looks bad or anything)

Great fun btw, although it took a few levels before the puzzles became remotely challenging
