Accessibility Statement

The University of Oklahoma College of Law is committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to everyone. If you have any questions or suggestions regarding the accessibility of this site, please contact accessibility@law.ou.edu as we are continually striving to improve the experience for all visitors.

Accessibility Features

In order to optimize the use of assistive technologies within our website we have made the following modifications. These changes are not normally visible when using a standard browser.

Skip Navigation

We have provided three key links at the top of every page to allow easy navigation of our site. The Skip to Page Content link allows you to skip all menu items and proceed directly to the page content. The Skip to this section's menu link allows you to skip the page header and main menu and go directly to the current page menu selections. The Skip to Accessibility Information allows you to return to this page.

At the end of each Section Menu are three skip navigation links under the H2 tag Page Navigation. The Skip to Main Content link will take you directly to that page's content. The Skip to Main Menu link will take you to the main menu that is replicated on all OU Law web pages. The Skip to Quick Links and Site Search gives you immediate access to commonly used links and our search feature.

Page Layout

The first H2 tag is the Quick Links and Site Search. The Quick Links is a drop down list that gives you quick access to commonly used links. And of course, the search function allows you to search our site.

All web pages have a main menu labeled the OU Law Main Menu and can be skipped using the skip navigation links at the top of every page. All web pages have a Content Section which begins with the 2nd H1 tag or the 4th H2 tag from the top. All pages have a Section Menu which represent the links for this particular section of our website. You can quickly access these menu items using the skip navigation links at the top of the page.

Items That Open in a New Window

Any menu item marked with an asterisk (*) will open in a new window. Any link that will open in a new window should be clearly marked. If you find any link or menu item that opens in a new window that is not clearly marked, please email us at accessibility@law.ou.edu so we can correct the problem.

HTML Code Specifications

Every page, with the exception of those listed in the Accessibility Barriers section below, has been coded to meet the W3C HTML 4.01 Strict specifications.

Accessibility Barriers

The Virtual Tour section of our website provides java controlled 360 degree tours of our facility. These are images that allow the user to use their mouse and "spin" around the room. We have provided a text description of each room and there is no alternative method to display this technology. However, we'd be more than glad to give you a tour of our facilities. Simply call (405) 325-4726 or email us at accessibility@law.ou.edu to schedule your tour.

There are some legacy Adobe PDF documents on our site that were created long ago and the original hard copy has been lost or destroyed. Although we are in the process of updating many of these documents to be more accessible, some of these documents may need to be recreated. We've made every attempt to place an Accessibility Warning at the top of a page's content where legacy documents are referenced. If you find you need a document that is not accessible, or find a document that does not provide this warning, please email us at accessibility@law.ou.edu and provide us with the document name, and where applicable, your name, address, and phone number and we'll make every effort to get the information to you in an accessible format.

Please review the revision history below to see our progress on updating our site and know that we are dedicated to making the OU College of Law website accessible to everyone.
