TWO THEORIES OF TRUTH I hold that there are two primary theories of truth: The Ideal, and The Miscellaneous, (or Genius and Shit). These are like attributes in a king’s hands. There are four rhetorics concerning the types: 1. In a first case, the ideal is the good and the real. Truth is obvious. 2. In a second case, the ideal is not real, but it is desirable. Note: If the ideal is the real or desirable, it is certainly half of all truths. Otherwise, we are adopting the highly specific Pessimism. 3. If the truth were not miscellaneous, it would be ideal or else judged as evil. 4. If truth is not ideal or evil, quantity and substance is what defines truth. Note: The miscellaneous is what remains when truth is not ideal or evil. A corollary to the entire set would be that if quantity and substance is what defines truth, then The Ideal and the Miscellaneous concern quantity and substance. Deductions / Two Views on Truth: 1. Quantity is miscellaneous and the ideal is substance. 2. Quantity is substance, and the ideal is miscellaneous. Ideal Truth: Ideas, Objects, Subjects, and Contexts are ideal notions of truth. Ideal truth can be perceived as Beautiful or Mathematical, Pleasurable, or Definitive. Miscellaneous Truth is Functional Truth, Exceptional Truth, Organized Truth, and As-Is Truth. Miscellaneous Truth does not require a mode of perception in order to exist. Instead, it insists on itself through an Ideal Function. Miscellaneous Truth is not something definite, except according to some mode of Idealism. When Idealism is corrupt, Miscellany becomes function-less, and the world becomes dysfunctional.
