Create this DIY carrot treat box with the free template! Fill it with candy or prizes for a perfect little gift to hand out this Easter.

These are the best kind of carrots to eat-the kind filled with candy that is!
An amazing lady at my church made these for all the women a few years ago for Easter, She had to make around 40! That is like a crazy amount of work!
I saved mine – well, I ate the candy..but saved the carrot) and turned the cute carrot into a printable so I could remake these year after year!
We put candy inside, but you could run a piece of twine through them and hang them for such a fun garland!
Supplies to make a DIY carrot treat box
- printables (down below)
- orange paper or orange marker
- scissors
- glue
- green ribbon
- pen
How to make a carrot treat box
Step 1: Print out the printables.
I print the carrot pattern on orange paper, but you can print it out on white paper and color it in.
If your printer only prints in black and white, you can cut out the pattern and trace around it on colored paper.
IF YOU DON’T HAVE A PRINTER: You can also upload the files to staples or office max and have them print them! Sometimes the local library has a printer for public use!
Step 2: Cut out
Step 3: Score the dashed lines. I use a ruler and a pen and just follow along the dashed lines. This makes it easier to fold the carrot.
Step 4: Fold each flap to create the carrot box shape. I fold each tab of the top down so and bend the sides around
Step 5: Add glue along the tab and fold that part underneath the other side of the carrot to form the box. I used hot glue but any glue or even double sided tape would work!
Step 6: Fill your treat box! You can use jellybeans, or any favorite candy. You can also put in any small toys or stickers if you are making these for kids.
Step 7: Once your box is full, you fold in the tabs. The round top will stick up a little so you have something to attach the carrot top. Glue them together.
Add carrot top
I have two different version of carrot tops that you can use! I can’t pick a favorite so you have to tell me what one you like the most!
Version 1: I used the carrot top template and glued it to the top. I made these printables so you could cut out both and glue them back to back so it’s green on both sides. Or just attach one to each carrot.
Version 2: Take hole punch and pop a hole in the rounded top.
Run the ribbon through the hole and tie it into a knot. You can make these short or long!
As I mentioned, I like them both- so I combined a little ribbon to the printable at the top! Best of both worlds!
Different sizes of Carrot treat boxes
You can print the printable at different sizes to make smaller little carrots!
It’s so cute that you don’t even want to open it until you smell the Cadbury minis! Then you rip that sucker open without abandon….
Open the carrot
You can open the carrot box by either tearing it right open.
Or just by ungluing the top.
