    Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the Israeli military to carry out "an intensive operation against centres of terrorism" in the West Bank, the prime minister's office posted on X a short time ago.

    Netanyahu also ordered the police and the Israel Security Agency "to increase preventative activity against additional attacks in Israeli cities", his office said.

    We've just heard from fire chief Oshri Basson who explained the emergency services' response following the explosions.

    "Around 20:30 (18:30 GMT) we received several calls about a blast in the area of Dan terminal in Amal St., Bat Yam industrial area," he says.

    "Fire and Rescue Services who arrived at the scene noted the initial status: an articulated bus, diesel-driven, fully burning. There are shock damages that could indicate that there was a blast here."

    He adds that the response included the help of two regions deployed at the site.

    "After inspection there is no one trapped," he says.

    It's almost 01:00 in Israel, and police and Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are working to determine how many suspects are involved after three buses exploded in Bat Yam, south of Tel Aviv.

    No casualties have been reported in the aftermath of the explosions and police are working to neutralise two other devices located in different parts of Tel Aviv.

    Pictures from some of the five separate scenes show people in forensic suits investigating as burnt out buses remain stranded on roads.

    Earlier, Transport Minister Miri Regev paused all buses, trains and light rail in the country for checks for explosive devices to be carried out - these have now been completed.

    Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has instructed the IDF to increase "the intensity of activity" against refugee camps in the West Bank, and the military has blocked entry to "certain areas" in the region.

    "As of now, the scanning of both trains and buses has been completed, and we are now trying to determine the number of suspects involved," Tel Aviv Police District Commander Haim Zargarov says.

    In comments reported by the Reuters news agency, Zargarov says that when police arrived at the scene "we detected explosions in two buses. At the same time, we received reports of several additional incidents, with scenes both in the city of Holon and the city of Bat Yam."

    "As of now, we have five scenes, three explosive devices that have detonated and two that bomb disposal units are currently working on," he says.

    “We will pursue the terrorists to the bitter end and destroy the terror infrastructure in the camps that serve as a frontline for the Iranian axis of evil,” he says in a statement.

    “Residents who shelter and provide shelter to terror will pay a heavy price."
