Vedas

The Vedas, derived from Sanskrit वेद (veda) meaning "Knowledge", are the earliest parts of Hindu scripture. They were originally composed in Vedic Sanskrit between the 16th and 8th centuries BC.

The four Vedas are the Rigveda, the Yajurveda, the Samaveda and the Atharvaveda. They each cover a wide range of topics, including mythology, ritual, philosophy and various hymns typically devoted to a particular deity. Hinduism considers them the revelation of eternal truths.
