Introduction

Madeline Reed-Jones joined USDA’s Economic Research Service (ERS) as a research agricultural economist for the Food Assistance Branch in the Food Economics Division. Her research focus encompasses topics related to healthcare, health outcomes, and food security. Madeline’s research includes estimating the food insecurity risk among demographic and geographic subgroups within States. She joined ERS in August 2023, after completing her Ph.D. in consumer science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her dissertation investigated the effect of liquidity on healthcare decision-making.

Education

Ph.D. in consumer science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, B.S. in economics from Hillsdale College.
