Noé J. Nava

Introduction

Noé is a Research Agricultural Economist for the Agricultural Policy and Models Branch in the Market and Trade Economics Division at ERS.

Background

Noé joined ERS in 2022 and he is a model-based computational microeconomist. Noé conducts research on domestic and foreign factors affecting agricultural markets and trade. His work explores the opportunities and limitations of methodological advancements to accurately reflect food systems and their implications for farmers’ welfare and human health. Noé has several publications in peer-reviewed journals including the American Journal of Agricultural Economics wherein he studied the role of U.S. domestic food trade to mitigate the impacts of climate change on agricultural profits.

Education

Noé holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Illinois, and a B.A. in Mathematical Economics from California State University.

Noé is a member of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association.
