1 The basics

For the simple greenside chip, you should narrow your stance and have your weight favouring your left, with just a little forward shaft lean. The tendency can be to get the ball too far back and the shaft leaning too much. That prevents you from using the club’s bounce properly and increases the risk of you sticking the leading edge into the ground at impact.
