Getting to Know God GOD’S SOVEREIGN WILL

Last month we looked at the Bible’s teaching on God’s providence, that God is involved in every action that occurs in His creation, even those involving human choices. Often, this topic brings up the issue of God’s election or what is commonly called predestination.

Predestination is the biblical teaching that all things are worked out by God according to His ordained plan. Unfortunately, despite this being a solidly biblical doctrine, many people hate the idea that God pre-determines or foreordains things to happen. And yet, the Bible is replete with examples of exactly this.

A biblical concept

In writing to believers at Ephesus, the Apostle Paul [God the Father] [Jesus Christ] – Ephesians 1:4-5. Paul mentions predestination again in verse 11.
