DIONYSUS AND ARIADNE

“It’s nice and peaceful up here!” said Hera, the goddess of motherhood.

“Yes, there are no pesky humans around to bother us with their problems!” replied Apollo the god of music, poetry and the sun.

They were interrupted by someone blowing a raspberry.

“You lot are so boring! I’d rather Live among the humans - at least they know how to have fun!”

That was Dionysus, the god of grapes and wine. He liked to party!

So he left Mount Olympus and wandered across the world. Wherever he went, grapevines grew and streams ran with wine. Nature spirits
