About this audiobook
Every year, the people of the Protectorate leave a baby as an offering to the witch who lives in the forest. They hope this sacrifice will keep her from terrorizing their town. But the witch in the Forest, Xan, is kind. She shares her home with a wise Swamp Monster and a Perfectly Tiny Dragon. Xan rescues the children and delivers them to welcoming families on the other side of the forest, nourishing the babies with starlight on the journey.
One year, Xan accidentally feeds a baby moonlight instead of starlight, filling the ordinary child with extraordinary magic. Xan decides she must raise this girl, whom she calls Luna, as her own. As Luna’s thirteenth birthday approaches, her magic begins to emerge—with dangerous consequences. Meanwhile, a young man from the Protectorate is determined to free his people by killing the witch.
Deadly birds with uncertain intentions flock nearby. A volcano, quiet for centuries, rumbles just beneath the earth’s surface. And the woman with the Tiger’s heart is on the prowl …

The ache of loss, and the renewal of love.
Painfully realistic, with yet a happy ending: acceptance. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I Really Enjoyed Listening To The Book. In The Beginning I Was Feeling A Little Bored But After Some Time It Started Becoming Interesting. ?

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I’d give it 4 and a half stars, but that’s not an option ?. I loved the plot and characters but parts of it were hard to understand. I also feel like Luna’s mother was sometimes portrayed as weak, stupid and mad, even though we learn that she is powerful. Still a great story, I highly recommend!

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A true fairy tale, the characters are believable with charms and faults, the setting is so easy to visualize you will find yourself under the moonlight in no time.
The intended audience is probably young but I definitely recommend this wholesome adventure with it's lovely world and characters, I think I will miss them. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was AMAZING if you're on the fence about reading it jump, leap, and fly on over that fence. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The girl who drank the moon is a fairytale that is beautifully written. That being said ... the writing often feels more like reading magical realism than the whimisical middle grade fantasy it’s supposed to be. What I enjoyed most was the description of magic ... it has a smell, a flavor, a color and at times even texture ? ... the plot is a teensy weensy bit dark but will keep you turning pages till the end.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A beautiful story of how sorrow and loss can turn into hope, and how love is the most powerful thing in the world. My children particularly loved all the voices that the narrator used, she was wonderful and brought the characters to life.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was a wonderful book, can't what to read more of your books.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Beautiful book. Has some scary characters that are not revealed since the beginning.
Magic here is beautiful, used for good and for love.
Overall, a great book.
