    FORWARD

What a great encouragement from someone whose life has been changed and testifies that God intended you for greatness! The powerful keys the Author prescribes from God's word and a work of God's grace and love in his life shows us that God can lift any one of us from below, to BE SOMEBODY HE INTENDED US TO BE. Yes, our current circumstances and how we were born are not final, God can change all that. I recommend this powerful book to all the readers and ask you to pass it to someone that needs the keys and encouragement. God Bless you all.

    BISHOP HENRY MUMBA

IMMEDIATE PAST NATIONAL OVERSEER FOR THE APOSTOLIC CHURCH IN ZAMBIA.

    INTRODUCTION

Many people in our generation are carrying a lot of pain, our generation is full of people whose love for God has grown cold due to a number of painful experiences they have had. By the grace of God, I have preached the word of God in various places and I have met people whose destinies have been crippled by some painful experiences in their lives. Many of them had great dreams but have abandoned them and settled for a life that is less than what God has for them. Some of these people even look successful but when alone they are crying and shading secret tears (Proverbs 14:13). Many have reached a point where they believe that nothing can be done about their situation.

I write this book to speak to such people, to tell them that they are destined for greatness. The God who has transformed my life can transform their lives too; all they need to do is to put their trust in Him. When God announced that He was going to bring the children of Israel out of bondage, they said that ...our hope is lost (Ezekiel 37:11), but God said to them that just as the dry bones are resurrected by his power, their hopes also were going to be resurrected, your dream shall live again. Am saying to you, don’t give up! It’s not over; your dream shall be fulfilled regardless of how hopeless your situation looks like.

One of my favourite characters in the Bible is Jephthah, I have preached several times from the account of this man and I now feel that it is time I put my preaching in a book. The following chapters of this book are the points of the sermons I have been preaching in a number of places. The message of this book shall come to you as though you are in one of our services, open your heart to receive your word, by the time you finish reading, your life shall never be the same. My great joy is to know that I have contributed something in helping you come into your fullness. You are not a nonentity, you are special in the eyes of God, and you are destined for influence.

    Chapter One

    IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT

"Our fathers sinned and are no more, and we bear their punishment" (Lamentation 5:7).

Many people in our generation are carrying a lot of pain and most of these pains are secret ones. When it comes to people in Church, many look happy but when no one is watching them, there are crying and asking themselves a lot of questions which seem to go unanswered. Proverbs 14:13, says "even in laughter the heart may sorrow and the end of a celebration may be grief". This means that you can have people that seem to be enjoying life but deep within their hearts there are hurting and crying. When people look at you, it seems like you are the most honoured person in life, it looks like you have all that you need but secretly you know that the story is totally different, you are hurting.

There are so many things that cause us pain; some may either be as a result of our own wrong choices in life while others have nothing to do with our actions. Whether we are the cause of our pain or not, the fact is that it affects our lives. You may be going through a very painful time that you cannot even explain how it started, I want you to know that God is able to change your story. The Bible is full of stories of men and women who suffered because of the wrongs of others but God in His greatness and goodness raised them to impact their generations.

Ishmael was driven out of his father’s house even though he never applied to be born in that family. Imagine waking up one morning as a young person and your own biological father drives you from the place where you are supposed to receive love and protection. This was a very painful experience for Ishmael but because of the faithfulness of our God, he was preserved from destruction.

Joseph was sold as a slave by his own blood brothers, he was driven to a strange land and forgotten but God remembered him and made him prosperous in the strange land.

Jephthah’s story begins by indicating that he was a
