Fuckery 2.0

About this ebook
The second in the Fuckery poetry series written by Brit teen Amy Moretsele, Fuckery 2.0 is just as mind-bendingly quirky as the first. It contains the same refreshingly weird humour found prior - personified vegetables and fridge-freezers, as well as a part two to the Fuckery original Le Boog. But also has a newfound darkness. If you ever thought poetry was dull, read Fuckery and think again.

The Poet
I am an unwitting servant
to the words
generated in my subconscious
Stay home
Stay home where it’s warm
it’s cold outside
The sun beats down
but it’s the look
of detachment
in their eyes. Stay home.
Under sheets. The day is
Long and tiring
The night trying
You’re weak now
Just stay home.
At home your heart is insulated. Completely
underwhelmed
Comfortable. Drifting from room to room
finally head at peace
Free of the swarm they bring
Stay home.
They can’t get to you.
The world can’t get to you.
You are safe in a cocoon of
dull mediocrity and low expectations.
So stay home. Please.
– Sincerely your heart and mind x

To ease your drooping eyes
the way they wince at the sunlight
Because the thoughts of how
All the novels you’ve read’s

Keep you up
at night.
Another cup. Because despite how
adults reminisce their teenage years, wishing they could
Turn back the clock
to ringing adolescent thrills
It will get better
I won’t always feel so. bored.
That I wish I’d be a victim of suffering
For kicks.
Expectations weigh you down. So pour
Another cup to lift you up.
to fill with empty ambitions.
After all everyone eventually finds
their own. meagre. satisfactory role to play
Eventually you fit the costume.
And then we die
become rotting dirt
Below the dirt we’ve left behind.
So pour another cup
And for God’s sake don’t get sick.
The Funeral
Missing someone is
the disease before their
