Detour - Jean Marie Rusin
Spring Break To HELL!
Late one day, Katie and John and Joe and Karen were leaving the city for their spring break. Katie said to use Route 80, but John said, We will go on 172 instead.
Katie got a bit mad at John and she did not speak to him.
When they arrived at Route 172, John said, The signs said to go to the detour through those woods.
Katie said, Let’s turn around and go back.
But John said, No!
Then Joe spoke, and John said, I am driving. Be quiet now.
Karen and Katie and Joe were a bit worried about where they were. Then the car suddenly had a flat tire, and John had to stop.
No! Keep on going, John. I have a bad feeling here.
But John got out of the car and opened the trunk and removed the spare tire. Katie and Karen got out and walked around. Katie said, Gee, it smells funny here.
Then they looked and said, It is someone’s tooth, with blood!
Girls, your imaginations are running wild,
John said.
No, they are not! Look, John, see for yourself.
I am busy fixing the tire. Leave me alone.
All right, if you do not listen to us, that is fine. But I have a bad feeling that we are going the wrong way, and we are getting deeper in the woods.
You are right, but we will reach the highway and we will not have to worry.
How do you know that we will reach the highway? There are no signs!
Don’t worry, you guys. We will be all right.
Then Joe looked out of the window and said, I thought I saw something out there.
Your mind is playing tricks on you.
Look, look! I saw it again. Stop, man!
You are scaring the girls; don’t do that!
But you must turn this car around now!
No! I do not know my way back.
What? Are you saying that we are lost in these woods?
Yes! I do not know which direction we came from.
Well, just turn the car around and go back.
I can’t. We are too far and we might reach the highway soon.
What about the gas? Do we have enough gas in the car?
Yes! This road will lead us somewhere; don’t worry!
I am very scared that we are really lost in these woods.
Now what?
Don’t panic; we will be fine.
All right!
They drove up to a dead end. Now what?
Well, I will try to turn the car around now. I was wrong about taking the detour. So I should have listened to you guys! I am very sorry.
So get us out of here!
I will.
John turned the car around, then he heard a boom!
What’s wrong, John?
The car blew a tire and I don’t have any more spares in my trunk.
Why, John?
I thought we would be going the normal route but I was mistaken with this detour.
Now you tell us.
I am sorry, you guys, but I promise to get you out of the woods.
Let’s get out of the car.
I am not leaving my car behind!
What are you saying? You are going to stay with the car?
Yes!
Are you crazy?
No! This car is very important to me.
"I believe that you should leave with us. I have a bad feeling about staying in these woods.
Why don’t you try your cell phone? Maybe a tow truck might show up.
Joe said, Why don’t we just start walking out of the woods and find the detour and get some help out this area?
But Joe, I am staying.
Then Katie said, I am too.
Then they heard a crackling sound, like a branch was breaking. Joe said, I am leaving. You can stay.
He started to walk and seemed like he just kind of vanished.
Karen called out and then she decided to run to him. Then he answered and said, I am fine.
Karen approached him and said, Let’s start walking,
and they walked and walked, but there was no end.
I don’t see John and Katie anymore.
They are fine.
How do you know that?
I don’t.
Then Karen said, It seems like we are walking in circles.
If we were, we would have seen Katie and John.
You are right.
What’s wrong with me, Joe?
Nothing, but I see something.
What?
Not sure!
They got closer and then much closer, and they were near a house.
Well, we found a house and we can make a call and get a tow truck to get John and Katie.
Joe knocked at the door, and no one answered, so Katie just pushed her hand and the door opened up.
OK! No one is home, so I will look around.
Are you sure you should?
Yes!
I really don’t like it very much.
Joe and Karen walked around the house, but it was really dirty and had a lot of blood stains on the floors and meat hooks hanging from the ceiling.
Karen whispered, Come on, Joe, let’s leave now.
Wait a minute. I am looking for the phone, so don’t take that long.
Come on, Joe, let’s go now!
Fine!
About a minute later, Joe was saying, Karen, watch out.
What do you mean?
And he fell down on the floor.
Karen was about to run to him and she was stabbed in the stomach. Then he grabbed her and placed her into a freezer.
No, please don’t!
Joe tried to get up, and he kicked him in his head, and he fell back on the floor.
Fears
Meanwhile, back at the road, Katie and John were standing and thinking about their friends. I hope that they are safe and they got us the help that we need.
Don’t worry, Katie, we will be fine.
I hope so. I am so, so scared here. My feet are shaking and I don’t know … I have a really bad feeling about this place.
Come on, you must be kidding.
No, I am not! I feel like someone is watching us.
Come on, Katie, we will sit in the car and we will be fine. Joe and Karen will bring some help and we will leave this awful place.
Can I hold your hand?
Yes.
Then he came over and gave her a big kiss and she returned the kiss.
John started to pull off her blouse and she said, No!
But why not?
said John.
Not here!
Fine!
Then he got out of the car and called out and saw a tow truck coming up the road. He yelled out and it stopped.
The man from the truck climbed down and said, What’s wrong? How can I help you?
Well, my car has a flat and I would need a spare tire.
What is the size?
I believe it is 15.
I have them at the station. You and your friend may get into the truck, and I will lift the car.
How far is it to town?
About three miles away. Unless you want to wait for someone else to come?
No, we will come with you, sir. That’s good.
So Katie climbed into the truck, but it was stinking really badly.
Then John got inside and the man slammed the door; it was then they noticed that they were stuck.
When the man was lifting the car, Katie said to John, Are you sure this is a good idea, going with him?
Well, we have no choice and I want to get to our destination.
All right.
The man got into the truck and introduced himself as Bill.
Nice to meet you, Bill.
Nice to meet you too.
Bill started up his truck and they were heading to the gas station. Then Bill said, We must stop at the house for a moment.
John and Katie agreed.
On the way to the house, in the wooded area, the closer they got to the head, they saw dead animals without skins.
Look, John, do you see what I see?
Try to whisper in my ear.
All right!
John and Katie, why are you so quiet? Speak up.
We are trying to be rude. We must find our friends too.
They probably are in town, waiting for you.
That is true!
But did you see them?
No!
Katie started to get worried about them.
When the truck stopped, Bill said, Would you like to use the phone or the bathroom?
John said, I would like to call my family and tell them I am fine.
All right, follow me into this house.
John said to Katie, I will be back in five minutes.
John stepped inside and said, Where is the phone?
Follow me.
Bill took him into the kitchen and then he hit him over the head, and John was lying on the floor.
About half an hour later, Katie walked inside and started to call out. Bill came to her and said, Katie, have a seat.
Then she noticed some blood on the floor, and she was scared to say anything. He gave her something to drink, but she refused at first.
Then she drank the water and she fell asleep. He tied her up on the bed, and when she woke up, he was standing there with a butcher knife.
Where are my friends?
They all left when you were sleeping.
That is a lie!
He held the knife closer to her chest. Then he started to cut her blouse and her pants.
About a minute later, he got on her body, removing his clothes. She started to scream and he put his hand over her mouth. He got inside of her and was going in and out, sometimes a little rough.
Katie started to cry, and he was just enjoying the sex with her.
About half an hour later, when she woke, she heard a cry in the other room. Katie tried to untie herself, and then someone walked in and started to touch her and also measure her skin.
What are you doing?
He smiled and started to cut her.
Katie started to bleed and he was licking it from her.
No! Stop this!
Then she heard Karen cry, and screamed, What are you doing?
Well, well, you will see soon.
What do you mean?
Soon it will be your turn and we will work on you.
What do you mean work on me?
I will not ruin the surprise for you, all right?
So will I be all right?
You are asking too many questions, so maybe we should cut off your tongue.
No, please don’t!
Ha, ha, ha.
You people are sick or something. Let us go! We will not tell anyone about what happened.
No! You will not.
So Katie tried to plead with Bill, and he just walked out of the room.
About a half hour later, Katie got one of her hands loose. She was about to get the second one loose and Bill caught her. Then he tied her up and once again he was on top of her, fucking her. She cried, but there was no help.
Then he stopped and called out to Bob and said, Let’s get her ready and place her on the hook next to her friend.
Bob untied her and took her into the freezer. Her back was on the hook and it was bleeding.
She looked at Karen, who was barely alive.
Oh my God! Where are the guys?
Karen whispered softly, They were cut up into pieces.
No, it is not true!
Yes it is, and we must find our way out now.
But Katie, you have a chance. Why don’t you try to talk with Bill? He seems like he likes you. That will be your chance to save yourself. Just run and be safe, and don’t look back. Gets to the road and get out of this place. Please promise me that you will before it’s too late.
But I want you to come with me.
But I am very weak and you are still strong to run.
I will just drag you.
No, you will not.
Oh, I hear something. Just be quiet!
Bill came inside the house with an axe and pointed to Karen. Katie was looking to see what would happen next. He was about to put the axe on her head, and Katie started to say, You want to play with me?
He smiled and put it down on the table. He went up to her and pulled off her blouse and started to suck her breast. Then he removed her slacks and she took off his pants. He touched her and started to fuck her hard and she started to bleed.
Then he untied her and threw her on the floor. Bob came in and he pushed him away and pulled down his pants and fucked Katie.
About one hour later, she was tied up on the bed and she started to scream. Bill came inside and went to the bed and touched her, and once again he fucked her.
When Katie awoke, the sheets were covered with blood stains. Katie tried to untie herself, but she was unable to.
About half an hour later, Katie heard Karen yelling and screaming for help, and then it was silent.
Bill came into the room and he had Karen’s head in his hand.
Katie was afraid to make a sound, but Bill came closer and said, Honey, you are next.
Katie begged him not to kill her. Somehow she untied her hands and she got up and found a knife and stabbed him the stomach. But he grabbed her leg and she fell on the floor.
Katie tried to get up, but Bob came and pulled her up and took her into the kitchen. She couldn’t believe what she saw. Katie saw Karen in pieces and in jars and she said, I will be good.
We love meat and you are very tender. You will be like our chicken.
No! No! NO!
Missing Persons
The search began with Katie’s family to find her, because she was missing and they didn’t hear from her for about a month.
They alerted the police department that their daughter went on her spring break to North Carolina, and she didn’t call home or write. They were scared that something terrible happened to her.
The police formed a search and they had no clues where they went.
Time went by and there was no trace of the college students from Michigan. The families were very worried and had a very bad feeling that they could be dead, but they didn’t want to think that way.
We must call the medium, and maybe she can find them.
One police officer said, "They are not the first ones who went missing in recent
