About this ebook
By definition, a demon is a spirit: a supernatural force owned, empowered, energized, motivated and controlled by the devil otherwise known as Satan. The sole objective and function of demons is to carry out the whimsical, nefarious, and diabolical atrocities of its owner and master. It is an accepted given that all spirits are non-corporeal, and in order for them to manifest themselves, to appear, or to effectively function, of necessity they must take on, and clothe themselves with some easily recognizable physical form or body, chiefly that of a human.

God initially gave His Word to earth by way of the Jewish community, so that Jewish culture could be reflected in his Word throughout the world (rom. 3:1-2). This results in their translation of the Bible being the closest to his intention for mankind. For that reason I use “The Complete Jewish Bible” (CJB) as my text for this manuscript. CHRISTIANITY Christianity is not a religion. It is that type of being wherein the life of Jesus Christ is portrayed in and through the life of another person. It originates from the term Christ, which means The Anointed. Originally, Christ Jesus was the image of God's person (Heb.l:3), but was now anointed to carry out two missions. 1) To become the prototype for man, and 2) to bring man into conformity to his own person, thus making man the image of God (Rom.8:28-30). The process of redemption effects in man the transformation that renders him a new creature (2Cor.5:14-21; GaI.2:19-20). Redemption is possible only through faith in the shed blood of Christ. Having gone through this process one becomes a Christian and his lifestyle is Christianity. It is therefore not a religion but it supersedes religion.

INTRODUCTION
DEMONOLOGY: A Study on Demons
By definition, a demon is a spirit: a supernatural force owned, empowered, energized, motivated and controlled by the devil otherwise known as Satan. The sole objective and function of demons is to carry out the whimsical, nefarious, and diabolical atrocities of its owner and master. It is an accepted given that all spirits are non-corporeal, and in order for them to manifest themselves, to appear, or to effectively function, of necessity they must take on, and clothe themselves with some easily recognizable physical form or body, chiefly that of a human.
Thus unsuspectingly disguised by appearing as a natural phenomenon, demons are able to stealthily and deceitfully wreak havoc on their intended victims. The motive behind all this is to work in disguise, and deceitfully (c.f. Jer.17:9) enslave humanity. Yet, in the broader picture, it is mostly to get members of the household of God (humans) to do the devil’s dirty works. This seems to be the reason they are termed demons. That name so aptly describes their fiendish and malicious disposition and maneuvers. And in one way or the other, demon possessions basically, are behind every nefarious behavior practiced by men on earth.
Demons delight in indwelling, possessing, and controlling humans in particular, inducing them to intimidate, harass, and terrorize their fellow compatriots. That is their modus operandi or method of operation on earth. A victim of demon possession never generally detects, nor is he generally aware of the presence of demonic influence behind his dramas and deliberations, and so such person readily acts or reacts precisely, strategically, and unsuspectingly, on behalf of the indwelling spirit of evil within, which becomes his energizing and motivating force and his master.
The serpent will forever bear the blame for seducing our fore-parents in Eden. And why shouldn’t he? His seductions, prompted by indwelling demons, in turn seduced Eve, inducing her to disobey God. In deed and in truth, it was the evil spirit of Satan that having so possessed the serpent, worked through him to accomplish the devious plan of the devil. Satan has been the author, founder and chief architect and administrator of every thing that is evil or nefarious, or that is of evil intent, that has ever been practiced on earth. He however, never generally gets blamed for anything, in light of the fact of his being physically absent (being present only as a spirit).
It is hoped that through this medium, enough light will be shed on the study of the practices of demons, and how the powers of evil work, so that fewer human beings will continue to submit to devilish persuasions, participating in his eternal program to deceive and destroy humanity, the handiwork and master piece of God. Man, however, has not been altogether left at his mercy, abandoned to the whims of this nefarious fiend. The entire Godhead is available at the behest of man to defeat Satan, so that he may emerge as more than conqueror in any particular encounter with evil.
It is interesting to note when Jesus at one time freed a man who was possessed with demons, they being cast out, requested of him that they be not dispatched back to the eternal abyss, but be sent instead into a nearby herd of swine (Luke 8:30-32). The entire hoard of demons, however, being evicted from their domain, had to remain disabled and ineffective because the very pigs they desired to possess preferred death to demon possession. Not so with humans! Humans generally experience a deficiency when not being spirit possessed, and a high when so possessed. This explains why drug, alcohol, and the demonic, become useful substitutes to man for the real thing, the Spirit of the divine in whose image man was made. Are dumb animals really more God-fearing and ready to maintain that sense of wholeness of spirit than are human beings?¹ They having been in existence before man may be aware of something man has not yet caught on to.
CHAPTER I: THE FATHER OF EVIL
Evil abounds and prevails universally ever since it was birthed by Lucifer the original rebel. Like a broken pod he spills and expels his negative contents universally, and that with an evil intent. It is easy for anyone not knowing the truth, to ascribe the presence of evil throughout the universe, to God, who is known to be the sole creator of all things both in heaven and on earth. This concept stems from the notion that he uses even evil to his own advantage as punishment to man, in retaliation to attitudes and actions against Godly precepts and principles. On the other hand, evil is ascribed to another being, namely the devil. So aggressively evil has he been that he continuously strives since creation, to frustrate God and his plan regarding man in this universe and ultimately, his heritage for the world to come. In any case man is seen to be the only object and intended victim of the devil on earth. This view seems to be backed by all logic, even though logic is considered to be based entirely on human reasoning. And that there is nothing at all that seems logical to man when it comes to the actual existence of God (Isa. 55:8-9). The invisibility of God—which too, for one, is quite illogical—precludes him from being apprehensible. Therefore he can be acknowledged only through the medium of faith.² This idea of faith, to man, is also beyond or outside the realms of all logic, taking into consideration, the natural and normal human experiences and understanding.
The God of all ages, for one thing, has been the epitome of all that is good. Goodness, the intrinsic attribute and attitude of God, is expressive in terms like Holiness, Righteousness, Justice, Peace, Truth, Wisdom, Equity, and other like terms. There however, exists a negative aspect to each of these attributes, the source of which is not God. These negatives, however, can be identified only against a backdrop of the positives, and obviously, are observed as being separate and apart from the positives. They therefore must have their origin elsewhere, other than with God.
Being magnanimous, God made all things good, but otherwise he allows the possibility of the negative aspect of himself to persist:—a mighty challenge to his own domain. One would wish that there were neither negatives nor positives in life, which situation would make life somewhat bland, boring, complicated and frustrating, leaving room for neither discriminatory choices nor aspirations. Yet some would prefer just that; just one level and singular field of dispositions and characteristics in life, a more instinctive type, leaving no room or place for decision making or the act of the will. In such a case, someone else could then be made culpable for man’s wrongs.
But it would be unthinkable and inconceivable, to have just that bland aspect in existence in which there is no variation in attitudes. Variety is said to be the spice of life. Bland, as is defined by the Oxford Dictionary, means insipid, boring, dull, unstimulating, uninteresting, uninspiring, uninspired, unexciting, characterless, vapid, neutral, prosaic, flavorless, tasteless, watery, flat, tame, and wishy-washy. Try to imagine a world so lacking in expression or variation. There is no other way to describe such a state, and it cannot even be conceptualized or imagined.
When God created the universe, he made no provision for the expression of the negatives of himself, or to his traits and attributes; however, all creation gloried in his inherent goodness and benevolence, with gratitude for such magnanimity and gesture of divine love and kindness. Everything was perfect in creation, though basically and divinely bland.
In his divine wisdom he structured hierarchies as a means of variation among the elements in creation. He ordered Domains under Principalities, Powers, Rulers, etc., and created cherubim, seraphim, archangels, and angels, and set each in its place. This type of structure presents a diversity of beings: an invariableness having a measure of apparent inequality, which in itself would not be inequality. This was diversity, the basis for real cooperation between himself and his creation, and among all other elements of creation.
"All are architects of fate working in these walls of time,
Some with massive deeds and great, some with ornaments of rhyme;
Nothing useless is or low: each thing in its place is best,
And what seems but idle show strengthens and supports the rest."³

Real cooperation which at times appear to be unfair situations, displace any spirit of competition. There also is the spirit of rivalry, which in itself could be rather antagonistic.
The negative spirits mentioned above did not originate in or with God, yet they existed basically and spontaneously as spirits and unseen forces, negative to the Spirit and nature of God, who already has been existent as author of creation. They potentially could negate not only the disposition of God but also anything that pertains to God and Godliness. However, they were never expressed, because there wasn’t any element or agent within creation with such ingratitude as to be willing to entertain or accommodate any spirit negative to the manifest Spirit of God, and so facilitate evil expressions.
Among the angelic hosts five categories,⁴ more or less, can be identified: Seraphim,⁵ Cherubim,⁶ Living Creatures or Beasts,⁷ Archangels,⁸ and Common Angels.⁹ Selecting from among the Living Beasts, one whom he would qualify and elevate to become ‘son of the morning’, God lavishly arrayed Lucifer in exquisite beauty. Would the Morning Star be precursor to the Day Star? God only knows. His name however, implies that he was a Bright Star. An insight into the drama leading to his dreadful fall was revealed to Isaiah when in prophecy he was to denounce the king of Babylon:
12How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. Isaiah 14:12-15 (KJV)
And subsequently to Ezekiel, as he was to denounce the king of Tyrus:
11Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
12Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
14Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
15Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
16By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.
18Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
19All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more. Ezekiel 28:11-19 (KJV)
