Flight of Imagination

About this ebook
Let not the passing moment go by in gloom
who knows it may be the last moment to bloom
Nip the blues in the bud never again to dread
bloom, as lotus in the mud, grace but never shed
before doom's shadow casts its spell in distressing
Cherish each moment of life as "His" blessing
Real culprit of suffering is past and future
Stay focussed on present if no discomfiture
Live in present whatsoever be the event
stick to this vision never ever to repent
What's past-delusion and future illusion
Passing show-reality ,if to come to conclusion
Dwell in reality with utmost clarity
Cherish the blessed spirit beyond mortality
Vanity-insanity and profanity
Dismal sect's of abysmal similarity
Sing smile and be happy wherever you show
Shine like sun-shine make the world glow!
K S Gentleman
I was born on January 18, 1937, in India. I came to USA as a lawful immigrant in 1990. My wife came in 1992, and my five children (three daughters and two sons) joined me in 1996. Now we are all US citizens, well settled and happily married. I did my graduation with honour in English in 1956 from Dunjab University–India. I started my career in USA from Walmart in 1990 as a sales associate and got retirement in 2010 after having worked for twenty years. I have been writing poems since 1956. I love English literature, especially poetry. Among English poets, I like William Shakespeare, William Wordsworth, Keats, and Lord Byron, I’m a simple man of high thinking. This is my fourth book in publication. Lots of my poems had been published in the past from time to time and had taken part in various poetry contests.

Good Morning, America!

I Love My Country, the USA
Hey! I feel great pride to say,
"I love my country: USA,
USA, USA, USA!
My love, my life, my joy,
USA, USA, USA!"
All day, all night, this I pray:
"May the Lord bless our USA
With mirth and worth and peace and sway!"
I feel so lucky to express my disposition
That I am a proud American citizen!
America the beautiful.
America the dutiful.
America the bountiful.
America the jauntiful.
In America—land of the free,
Equal opportunity—
Nobody needs to surrender.
Nobody dies of hunger.
There’s no dearth of food or shelters.
Let others live; that’s what matters.
For peace, prosperity, and reward,
American folks trust in God.
Night and day, they pray to God
Sans doubt, sans hate, sans fraud.
America, America, God bless America.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! God bless America!

Hard to Think Out
You are my life.
You are my love.
You are my dream.
You are my wisdom.
How can I live now,
Being without you?
It’s hard to think about;
It’s hard to view.
Life without ye
Is nothing for me.
It’s all formality
That breeds abnormality.
Far away, my dear,
Throw away your fear.
Respond to lover’s call.
Welcome spring, not fall.
You are my heart.
You are my mind.
You are my gene.
You are my wholesome.
There’s no temptation
In lovers’ negotiation.
They never live apart;
That’s not their part.
You are so beautiful,
Earnestly dutiful.
He who sees your guise
Has feelings of Paradise.
Love, Selfish Never Be!
She may come to see me today,
Delight me, or keep away.
I can’t tell the mode of arrival;
It would amuse me or dismay.
I wish I could confess what my heart yearns.
Would she listen to me or go away?
Oh, why I am so anxious?
Neither would she come nor stay.
If she comes or not, that’s fine,
But I wish her the best always.
She may budge back or walk away,
But for love, I won’t mind her way.
Being in love, I swear with trust
To never go against her sway.
Love is love—selfish never be.
Those who disagree have gone astray.
Mysterious Tunnel
Don’t sit idle like a dumb, driven drone.
Don’t feel haggard; don’t feel woebegone.
Amid hurricane, blizzard, or cyclone,
Be always on your mark, and get to the gone.
Get goin’, get goin’ toward the unknown.
It should be life’s only cherished icon.
Without any sign, without any milestone,
Life is a groping-in-the-dark marathon.
What a mysterious tunnel, man, this life is.
What lies inside is still unknown.
Despite running around this huge world,
Human beings still are bound to a personal zone.
There is no guarantee of human life,
Soon to be lost in the ocean of bygone.
With the passage of time, each life passing by,
There’s nobody born who could change time’s tone.
Time is life; time is death for the whole world.
Time is the supreme power—there’s nothing beyond.
Time’s Prey
Hit hard by time’s surprise attack—alarmed,
Disfigured, distorted, dispossessed, disarmed,
Eaten, beaten, cheated, bruised and busted,
Harassed, thrashed, collapsed and disgusted,
Toasted, roasted, frosted, and deadly defeated,
Only and lonely, like a living corpse forfeited!
Without any ground, astounded, how could you allege?
Inching and flinching, languishing on the sharp edge
Of life’s fast, fleeting, deadly, wrecked ship, unable to fend,
It’s time to bid good-bye
