The humans have known for centuries about the effect on the biological cycles and tides from the waning and waxing Moon. But it had taken the space-age exploration and the landing of the Moon has revealed the connection of the existence of the human beings on a very fundamental level.

      Introduction

      When the astronauts dug into the surface of the Moon during the Apollo program, they were doing more than just digging up the dark and dry sediments. The astronauts were actually time travelers. The sediments and the rocks that were returned by Apollo had contained major clues on the formation of the Earth and the Moon. It also aimed at determining the nature and timing of the early timing, the intensity of the impact of the bombardment and its variation with time and even the history of the Sun. Much of this information became the crucial parts of the origin of the planet Earth. However, this cannot be learned by the study of the rocks on the Earth. This is due to the fact that our planet is so active geologically that it has erased much of the record. The clues have been lost in the billion years of mountain building, weathering, volcanic activities, and erosion.
