About this ebook
Every little girl loves to be her daddy's little girl, and every little boy loves to be his daddy's "big man," but what does that entail for Nessa and Tears in Juanita Beverley-Towns', "From the Hands of My Hero?"
Domestic Violence at the hands of a relative or someone familial can be the worse traumatic experience when a little girl has been sexually violated, but no matter whose hands the abuse is suffered, it has lasting effects that alter lives forever. Children have no idea what to do with abuse of any kind, so they tuck it away and continue to love their abuser, moving on with their lives doing things to help them forget or remember depending on where they find themselves. Vanessa was no different; she pursued her musical career and made strides, but right beneath the surface lived the memories and the life-changing episodes that have become the backdrop of her life's story.
To be like his father was something Tears struggled with due to not having met the man, so he decided to embrace who he really was with a legal change of his name and his persona. Truth is, Tears would rather be like his mother than to be like the father he never knew. What will Vanessa do to come to terms with and deal with her abuse from her past to change her future? Will Tears' choice of lifestyle be his complete undoing? They have both lived through trauma and abuse, but does it mean it has made them stronger?

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
My first acknowledgement goes out to my God my creator! I Thank you father for never leaving me and for guiding me back to you. When I was so broken you pulled me through by shinning your light on me, in my darkest hours you were the only light I could see. When I had no one, God, You were there.
I also thank you for my Loving and Dedicated husband, Frederick Eli
Towns, who has been with me every step of the way. Eli, I thank you, baby, for always being patient with me and supporting me through all the many ideas and events that I’ve had over the years. I thank you and love you so much for believing in me and in my dreams.
I wish to thank my mom, Ruby Beverley, and my grandmother, Ruth Stepney (Deceased); if not for these two women praying for me, I don’t know where I would be! They taught me to never give up and trouble don’t last forever. Thank you, Mom and Grandma, for instilling in me the Word of God, the strength to always get up, to never give up, and to always stay true to Self!
I would also like to acknowledge my Sis-n-law, Stephanie and her husband L,’ and my nieces Jade and Tamia for being the first ones to judge this book, From The Hands of My Hero.
As I read the book to them, I paused after each chapter and they kept yelling, More, more, read more!
They made me feel good about my writing, so I continued to push forward to have this book published. Which brings me to the next acknowledgement.
I’d like to acknowledge Sharel E. Gordon-Love, my Publisher and my cousin. Thank you, Sharel, for believing in me and for putting up with me for almost a year! I had so many questions and most of my questions were pertaining to the finished project and you asked, Are you finished?
My answer was, no,
and you always came back with, Just keep writing!
Thank you for keeping me focused and pushing me to finish...Love you.
Finally, I would like to thank ASP After The Storm Publishing for trusting in me and publishing my book.
To all my family and friends, thank you for your contnuous support...I Love You All!

CHAPTER ONE
Feeling Free
Vanessa
Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world. Red and yellow, black, and white, they are precious in His sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world...except for me.
I can hear Mommy yelling and screaming, Call 911! Please, somebody, call 911! As I sat there in the middle of the kitchen floor, staring at the puddle of blood that seemed to get darker in color, almost turning black, and the smell alone would make you vomit! I sat there in shock, afraid to move. It felt like an out-of-body experience. I was hovering over myself, feeling so proud and free about what I had done! But that feeling didn’t last too long. The voices of people shouting at me and putting the blame on me crowded my head.
It’s all your fault,
Look at what you have done,
You should have told someone!"
My already small world began to diminish thought by thought, then in an instant, everything was black again. My mom’s voice was sounded further and further away from me, yet I could still see her standing in front of me, motioning her hands, yelling at me, and crying. I have never seen my
