    Challenging commonly accepted "fact," the author pokes "Porgy and Bess" style fun at both cosmologists and conservative Biblical scholars pulling back the "Oz curtain" of faulty reasoning to make a case for scientific humility. Palmquist gives reason to believe that the Universe is timeless, eternal, and that Earth cannot possibly spin at 1,000 mph to complete its 24-hour day cycle. He cements his challenging thoughts upon a new look at Einstein's E=MC2. Born in 1931, Palmquist looks back upon a successful career in broadcasting and publishing. His academic training included seven years of post-high school college and graduate school education. The families of his five children, approaching retirement, have given him over two dozen grandchildren and a growing number of great-grands. He is experiencing perfect health during his third decade in retirement at his home in Nipomo, California, south of Pismo Beach. In 2005, revised in 2013, he wrote EINSTEIN, MONEY AND CONTENTMENT, followed in 2015 by INTIMACY, GATEWAY TO HELL OR TO GOOD HEALTH. In 2017, WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU IN HEAVEN'S NAME was published.       Is society confused? Scientists believe time began at the Big Bang. So, science agrees with the Bible. Timeless eternity was there when Earth popped up. In addition, E=MC² converts to M=E/C², revealing harmony between Biblical beginnings and particle physics. Does Earth spin like a top? The author doubts it. He suggests we bow in humility. We do not know everything. We know in part.

      Let’s get acquainted

      Do you refuse to think about some things because they are just too confusing, too complicated? There could be help for you in these pages. This book is about complicated stuff that not only confuses people: we are cheated when we don’t understand. Living life convinced that we will never figure out how the really big stuff in life works is a s hame.

      This discovery process is not hard. Let’s have fun.

      When we were children, too young to suspect that our parents could trick us, Christmas season would follow the same pattern. A few days before Christmas there would be talk about the tree. Would Santa bring a tree this year as he did last Christmas? Then one evening there would be a loud thump on the front porch. The tree!

      Mom, where is dad? Too bad he is missing this. The tree is here. Santa did it again. After a few minutes, dad with a face blank with innocence, would emerge from the side door, making us believe he had been all that time in the basement. Working. Always working. Dad and mom worked hard to make life pleasant for us. And they succeeded even while straining our credulity.

      When Christmas Eve celebrations at the home of my father’s mother would come, somehow Uncle Ed would always be the one missing. Then, a rotund figure would appear wearing a Santa mask. Yes, of course it was Ed, hardly disguised, but again seeking for us to believe well-intentioned stories beyond our ability to debunk.

      Until later in life.

      The stories we are told by well-intended scientists are not unlike the stories told to naïve children. Some findings of science seem to be factual. Others challenge logic and demand further proof. Still others stand as accepted fact though they stretch our common sense.

      We will examine a few stretch-able beliefs, all the while assuring ourselves, it ain’t necessarily so.

      Fasten your seatbelt for a trip down confusion’s causeway. You have been taught to leave Einstein’s discoveries to experts, trusting them to think straight. But it ain’t necessarily so.

      You have been taught that the Universe we live in was originally not only not here, but that nothing was nowhere when where came here. It ain’t necessarily so.

      You have been taught that there was once a Big Bang when nothing became something and that something is random and growing, evolving and progressing while the laws of nature dictate that everything that is a thing has a tendency to decay, not to improve. Nevertheless, we are smarter than the apes we grew from. Confusing isn’t it? It ain’t necessarily so.

      You assume that because the Universe is here that there was a time when it was not here. It ain’t necessarily so. You assume, because everybody assumes, that the earth spins at a thousand miles an hour at its 24,000-mile equator and that is why every 24 hours a new day dawns. It ain’t necessarily so.

      All this is confusing and this book is dedicated to tickling your funny bone when you contrast all this confusion with the social disdain for the Bible created decades ago by the composers George Gershwin, Ira Gershwin and DuBose Heyward and lyricist Ira Gershwin. The Opera Porgy and Bess popularized the lyrics, including the refrain It ain’t necessarily so.

      We are not in the position to declare absolute fact, because we were not here before here was here. However, we can have fun poking holes in popular beliefs, and in the process, we may sharpen our ability to think straight – and learn something.

      Decades ago, society was taught to view the Bible carefully, doubtfully, because as Porgy and Bess suggested, the Bible ain’t necessarily so. At the same moment people were being invited to take a second look at the Bible scientists were flooding academia with facts not backed by theory or hypothesis. Assumptions became givens about issues where investigation is impossible. We need to tease you to see scientists realistically, because they ain’t no more so than science claims the Bible is not so.

      It appears that no scholar has yet plumbed the depth of E=MC². A complete study would require looking at the meaning of M=E/C². This formula reflects the connection between the Creative WORD reported by John 1:1 and what we see in particle physics.

      The author begins his twist on Porgy and Bess’ Ain’t necessarily so, teasing inconsistencies in the findings of respected scientists like the departed Stephen Hawking: respecting reputations but pointing with disdain at departures from the scientific method.

      The author suggests that perhaps God’s creative Word did not start the Universe. Could the Creator rather have added our Earth to what already existed, and our Creator is working on a special project here, a part of His eternal purpose?

      Chapter one explains that the speed of light is impossible and that the square of that number is not a number. It is an expression of infinity. M=E/C². (Einstein reversed) shows that all that we see (matter) is God’s Word-energy slowed down. His voiceprint resides in the particles and waves seen by physicists as present within all matter.

      Chapter two explains that God, being eternal, therefore always had a place to live, pre-existing the creation of Genesis 1, and that the Bible’s creation history is only intended to tell about Earth’s recent events.
