Reviews for The Winterley Scandal

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5There were times when the angst got to be a bit too much but overall it was a good read.Evoked a rant from me about average musicians, there never seem to be plodding musicians in romance, only geniuses or terrible. The romance has issues because of parents, their parents had a torrid affair, he was left poor and served so he also has a limp (and trust me, love does not conquer pain, serious traumatic injuries take forever to heal), he is trying to find a place for himself after leaving the army, where he served under an assumed name. He's helping out with his uncle's estate and finds his father's mistress' diaries, and her daughter. There are sparks but he doesn't want them to ignite.I also loved the portrayal of the artist at work I just wish Colm had dealt with some of his issues better.Overall I found it enjoyable and interesting.
