Letting Go

About this ebook
It is easy to lose our way in the dark of Life's fiercest storms. The compulsions of fate make it impossible to see the silver lining. But Courage and Conviction shelter us through the worst. Each step, difficult as it may be, moves us forward. Eventually, as the sun emerges from the storm, a survivor emerges, a victor is born!
These poems are an ode to those feelings, which help us to overcome, to find the innate strength within, and to move on, towards freedom and liberation. This book may strike a chord within you, helping you to move forward with faith and see the silver lining amidst all the odds of life.
Babita Jain
The author is a medical professional whose high pressure job leaves time for little else. This is her first foray into the realm of writing. Through verse, she chronicles her emotional exuberance finding echo in Nature be it the cooing of a pigeon, the fragility of a beautiful butterfly and the disappearing sparrows as against an inner angst representing the turmoil of life, the sickness and the suffering. The book outlines the inter connectedness between the two as she traces a journey from grieving to healing and a realisation of a freedom that was always hers begin with, but just required an inner exploration and a sense of peace.

About the Author
Acknowledgement
I would like to express my gratitude to the many people who saw me through this book; to all those who provided support, talked things over, read, wrote, offered comments, assisted in editing and proof reading.
I would like to thank Manish Swarup for giving me the perfect foil for Letting Go through his photography, to Madhumita Paul whose sketches conveyed the different moods so beautifully and Aasha who took time to edit and proofread, and support me in this venture. Would not have thought of publishing without her inputs.
And a big thank you to my brother-in-law Sanchi and Dr. Megha who took time out to help me with the formatting, despite being very busy.
A special thank you to all my friends who encouraged me to write and publish.
Above all, I would like to thank my nephew Anand Chhabra whose uncanny sense of humour along with his zest for living provided the much needed relief and the encouragement I needed.
Grieving
image001.jpgPain
The pain that is in me
The grief that enfolds me,
It's as if there is only
darkness and gloom.
The wound in my heart,
Only grows deeper
With each start,
Every word written,
Every hysterical speech
Just drives the knife deeper,
Into my heart,
As if to tear it apart
No solace do I find,
It's as if every smile is haunted,
Your ghosts surround me,
Wonder if I am dead,
It's as if life is a twilight zone,
From where neither left nor right can I turn,
The roads are all blocked,
With the beasts still at play,
My dragons who will slay ?
As my strength slowly ebbs away,
I watch the dark clouds in the sky
And then I see that faint silver lining,
Which I cling to, as I make my way
The dawn slowly comes after a dark night,
I stand on unsteady legs
But each step I take
My resolve firmer, my feet steadier,
Yes I will find the strength,
To cross this night, to find the
