About this ebook
"All art is at once surface and symbol."
-Oscar Wilde
What does art symbolize? It stands for all that we have been, all that we are, and all that we are capable of being. It is the only true source of limitless power that we possess. We can wield it in infinite ways, with infinite consequences. Every brushstroke, every note, every syllable stands for an outstretched arm across the dome of absolute pragmatism that we live in. This collection of poetry charts a seventeen-year-old's journey as she attempts to do the same. A book with raw, staccato bursts of emotion, with each page connecting you to yet another side of yourself.
Vrinda Sood
Vrinda Sood, like many others of her age, is trying hard not to let studies get the best of her. Her innate need for expression comes to the fore through dancing, writing, and performing poetry. A student of Delhi Public School Vasant Kunj, she enjoys participating and organizing numerous events and can often be found running down the corridors from one activity to another. She has been writing since she was seven years old and has won several national and international accolades for the same, including a gold medal conferred by the Royal Commonwealth Society for its International Essay Competition. This is her first book, but she hopes to soon match the speed of her ideas with her pen and translate the stories within her onto paper.

Songbirds sing, must I be silent?
When, I pray, will my spring come?
When will I be like the swallow,
singing forth no longer dumb?
FOREWORD
With a work schedule of 8 to 8, we as mothers miss out a lot on the pleasures of the growing up years of our children. It becomes increasingly difficult to recognize their potential and consequently to guide them and provide inputs in the desired direction.
With Vrinda, however, it was a completely different story. The first time her poem hit my office mail box, Vrinda was in Grade 3. I promptly asked her who had written it and was very pleasantly surprised to know that it was my little baby. Writing came instinctively to Vrinda and she started to pen her thought in form of poems on the back of her class notebooks, exam question
