The undisputed finality of death is one such case that may perhaps be the most daunting of all, yet… must still be accepted. No one wants to die miserable. No one wants to die alone. No one wants to die feeling they could have done more.

    This is a story for you. Whoever reads my words. Whilst life is finite it doesn’t have to be spent in fear of that final end. Embrace the notion of finality and live every moment prior as a blessing in the strongest emotion we have – love. Love for family, love for friends, love for a special someone.

    Love is what makes us happy,
    And helps us die complete.

      THE CRAFTSMAN

      His heavy blade repeating,

      Each sawing careful stroke,

      four legs, a base and backboard,

      a chair for friendly folk,

      he wakes up every morning,

      unlocks his welcoming store,

      orders his stock and materials,

      for the people he opens his door,

      A man and wife approach him,

      Their hands and hearts entwined,

      ‘newlywed’ they tell the craftsman,

      A double bed they wished to find,

      The craftsman smiled and agreed to this,

      and payment was then set,

      the couple left so happily,

      and that night to work the craftsman set,

      after the day he leaves his store,

      his single tools in hand,

      enters the familiar quiet of home,

      his work shed his efforts to land,

      he enters the sombre confines,

      where he spends every night,

      gathers his materials,

      to craft his worth and light,

      no sooner had he started,

      did the thoughts of the couple flow,

      their hands and hearts entwined with love,

      and their emanating youthful glow,

      as they did each night the tears did fall,

      from his sadness he wished he could wake,

      a family torn through natural scorn,

      the last bad night he could take,

      he left his home in the dead of night,

      unlocked his welcoming store,

      gathered his chair for happy folk,

      for the people he closes his door,

      he had finished the couple’s double bed,

      his heart and soul entwined,

      sleek design and quiet engravement,

      the last of its kind,

      before turning the key he lays out the bed,

      left a note for the husband and wife,

      ‘I hope this is what you wanted! No need to pay – live your life!’

      Taking his means and meaningless chair,

      He rose above his pain,

      His mind now torn through personal scorn,

      And outside it began to rain.
