It is being observed that huge crowd listen to the preachings of great saints like Ramesh Bhai Ojha, Shudhanshu ji. Guru Maiya etc. It shows that the people are affiliating towards religion, spirituality and astrology.

Recently, a controversy has arisen due to the fact that Astrology, Priesthood (rites) and yoga have been ratified and included in the courses of study by U.G.C. under the ordinance of Government of India. The persons who believe in traditional culture and those who are against it became prompt and conscious on the incident of the declaration. The English newspapers and the foreign news media have defamed Astrology by declaring it to be the subject of blind faith. Many so called scientists have criticised astrology and have questioned whether Astrology should be included as a course of study. Consequently, there was a public opinion on this issue. A world-wide survey published by Delhi edition of Times of India, favours wherein 79 per cent of the intellectuals are in its study.

Many institutions of Astrology, Vastu Shastra, Pamistry and Spirituality proliferate after the incident where the subjects were taught. The interest of the people towards religion and spirituality could be assessed by the fact that appreciablenumber of people including boys and girls get the tickets of Rs 500 and Rs. 1,000 for hours to have a glimpse of lord Balaji at Tirumali Hills (Tirupati-Andhra Pradesh). Not only that, in the temple of Siddhi Vinayak in Mumbai on every Tuesday the devotees stand in the que from overnight in large numbers. Likewise, the crowd in the temple of Shirdi Sai Baba, Vaishno Devi temple, churches and Muslim Madarsas had the inclination towards religion, in general.

Sometime back, the people who performed religious rites, worshipping and astrological performances as well as Vastu- Shastra were taken to be having blind faith in mind. The concept is getting changed day-by-day and now the people have become more religious minded and believers in God to find solace and spiritual attainment.

Acknowledging the importance of time factor, an astrologer is called the knower of time—Knower of past, present and future and knower of all. In the famous ancient book Vedanga Jyotish, the author said that Astrology is the regulator of time. It has been said that one who knows astrology knows yajna (rituals). Ascendant and its importance

‘Lagna’ or Ascendant is the most important and essential element of the birth-horoscope. A group of stars which arise in the eastern horizon at the time of birth of a person within the limitation of 30° (thirty degrees) of a Zodiacal sign is called the Ascendant. The period of an Ascendant comes roughly to two hours. The calculation of the Ascendant is based on the Siderial Time, arrived to the local time, where the person is born. A birth-horoscope is actually the horoscope based on Ascendant.

The earth rotates on its axis everyday. The Zodiacal signs are invariably exposed to the solar influence on the first day of Aries; the first degree of that particular sign rises in eastern horizon at sunrise and remaining signs gradually follow till the next day, when the sun rises again in the second degree of Aries. Thus sun rises on the last day of the solar year on last degree of the zodiac i.e., the 30th degree of Pisces (360° of the Zodiac).
