THE FIRST MAN ON THE MOON
On July 20, 1969, millions of people around the world tuned in to watch the astronauts of the Apollo 11 mission land on the moon. Commander Neil Armstrong was the first man to step onto the moon’s surface. Buzz Aldrin followed a few minutes later. When the astronauts returned home on July 24, they were welcomed as international heroes. The Apollo 11 mission was a major success.
