The songs are by Walther von der Vogelweide, Hildegard von Bingen, Wipo von Burgundy, Martin Luther, Michael Praetorius, Heinrich VIII and others, some are up to 1000 years old.
Some of the songs are polyphonic (for one player) and notated in tablature and classical notation.
The sounds of the songs are available online in a sound player with adjustable playback speed.
Videos explain how to read music, long songs are also available as PDF downloads - no more scrolling necessary. Web address and access data in the book.

The mandolin has been known since the 17th century and belongs to the family of lute instruments.
The classic mandolin is the Neapolitan
