      he many colors of my heart pour out of me

      Like a rainbow painted upon a powdered sky

      For all my emotions dance like droplets in oceans

      Seas of blue that can never run dry

      And the rivers that rush to golden shores

      Don’t always deliver dazzling displays

      Silent moments the world ignores

      When the pretty shades turn to browns and grays

      Crimson dawn fades to lavender dusk

      And as sure as my sun sets, it will again rise

      And though at times, I see sapphire skies

      Charcoal clouds always return to blind my eyes

      Now and then, my heart embodies a fiery beast

      Boiling over in ruby red rivers of rage

      Then suddenly, it stands as still as a pond without ripples

      And soothes as softly as the scents of jasmine and sage

      My heart can set a maelstrom of madness into motion

      Or whisper as quietly as a summer stillness without a breath

      But in darkness deep this heart will weep a sea of blues

      With the failing hope of twilight’s depth

      But then, with a single encouraging word

      This heart of mine will shine like silver once again

      For in daylight’s laughter I play in emerald pastures

      Until the blackness of sorrow drains the life from my pen
