About this ebook
Mia has wanted a dog for a long time. But the choice has to be carefully considered, and that's not so easy for Mia and her parents. Should it be a puppy from a breeder, maybe a dog from an animal shelter, or rather directly from animal welfare? Together with her parents, Mia finds out about the different dog breeds, their origins, and their nature. Mia and her parents not only get to know many different dog breeds, they can also decide whether the dog is suitable for the family or not. The responsibility and the time required for a dog will become clear to them quickly. Will Mia and her parents still decide on a faithful four-legged friend, or will it just be a dream?

Dog wanted! - Lisette Jupke
1. Mia has a dream
It was already well past midnight, when Mia was awakened by a noise.
Au oh crap!
That was her father's voice. The book of dog breeds fell on my foot!
Be quiet, not that Mia wakes up
, she heard her mother whispering.
Yes, yes
her father answered. "What do you think Mia will say to our proposal? asked the mother.
I think she'll like it, her father replied.
She always talks about her friend's dogs. We have to think carefully about which breed we choose. The dog should not be too big. They don't get too old and eat a lot, which could get expensive," her father replied.
"We still have to decide whether we want a puppy or an adult dog, added the mother.
Better a dog from a breeder or maybe from an animal shelter. Who will go to dog school with it, how do we want him to be fed?"
"Yes, there are many questions, we will need to answer beforehand. But maybe we are wrong and Mia doesn’t even want a dog. She is already very happy about her baby brother, which is change enough. Let’s ask Mia tomorrow after a good night sleep."
Mia couldn’t believe, what she just heard. Her parents were thinking about getting a dog. Maybe one like the one her friend Anna owned? Or maybe a little funny one, like the one her neighbour Paula owned? Mia was very excited and wasn’t able to go to sleep anymore. She was lying awake in bed and tried to remember all the dogs she knew in her head. All of them were beautiful and special. How would she be able to decide, which dog she should take? She knew the name of the breeds of some already. While thinking about everything, she fell asleep with a smile on her face.
Mia, wake up
, she heard her mother calling her from the kitchen the next morning. Today is Sunday, and we wanted to go visit grandma and grandpa. Did you forget that?
It took Mia a moment to realize that she was in her bed and not tossing around with a pack of dogs at the dog park. Oh,
she sighed loudly, ,,then it was just a dream, I had last night.
To ad, it had been so nice, and I was so excited about having my own dog!"
When Mia arrived in the kitchen, mum and dad had prepared the breakfast table nicely as always. Mias dad was sitting at the end of the table and was happy about his nice smelling cup of coffee, which Ella had already put in front of him. For Mia, she had a nice cup of coco prepared, and Mia noticed that both her parents were in a great mood this morning.
So, princess, did you sleep well?
dad asked.
Of course, I did, I dreamed of dogs!
Mia told them.
Dad put his Sunday Newspaper aside and there it was, The great book of dog breeds
. Mia looked at the book in shock. So she wasn’t dreaming after all? Were her parents really thinking about getting a dog?
Is this not the book grandma gave us last Christmas?
she cried out happily.
Yes, this is the book, that she had given us, and we will take it to meet them today. But before that, we have to ask you if you would be OK with looking at different dog breeds and thinking about getting our own family dog.
Would I be okay with it? Of course, I am!
Mia called out and ran to her parents to hug them.
"Easy, princess, we will have to think about it very carefully.
A dog is not a toy that
