Guide for Tournament Parents Taekwondo - Guillermo Mayuri
Testimonial
I wish I had read this book before our first taekwondo tournament. It is filled with insights that would have made it a much easier day. We would have known what to bring. Although we have been competing for 2 years, the information about working through the competitive division is still helpful and relevant. Anyone looking to know exactly which tournaments to register for should read this.

Introduction
My journey to the tournaments started when one of my kids was a four years old Taekwondo student and he decided that he wanted to go to a tournament. At first, I did not know much about Taekwondo other than just to show up to the place and time highlighted in the paper.
Upon arrival we paid the spectator’s fee and walked into a place full of other parents, kids, rings, noise and bags a lot of bags! We went to find our instructor and we were told to go to a place called the staging area and wait there. The place was crowded with parents and kids many of them were lost just as we were, some with more experience than we had were waiting away from there.
After that the officials designated a ring one parent was given a manila envelope and sent there with all the kids following to a ring. We followed them to the ring and my kid competed. At the end of his ring going I was told my kid won first place! What?! How?! When did that happen? I had no clue!
Wow, now while writing this guide I am a proud father of two sons with 3rd degrees black belts, both State Champions and so far, one District Champion, they are level 1 and 2 certified instructors, level 1 and 2 judges, and teach in the school they train in.

I see them growing from been little shy kids to becoming strong young men with great self-steam who can handle a loss and work to improve themselves into getting better results in any of their
